LANFRANCHI MINE SETS NICKEL METAL PRODUCTION RECORD;
DISCOVERS NEW MASSIVE SULPHIDE ZONE GRADING 4.54% NI

June 7, 2006

Vancouver, B.C. - Brilliant Mining Corp. (BMC:TSXV) ("Brilliant") is pleased to announce that its 25% owned Lanfranchi Mine has set a monthly nickel metal production record since recommencement of mining operations in 2005. In May 2006, mine production was reported totaling 14,000 tonnes of ore grading 3.1% nickel (Ni) for a calculated 434 tonnes of contained nickel metal.  Production figures for the months of April and May are shown below with May figures reported prior to final sampling and weighing reconciliation.

An important component of May´s production was sourced from a recently discovered high grade footwall zone at the top of the Helmut South ore body grading 4.54% Ni.  This newly discovered high grade source appears to sit in a basalt pinch out zone in a previously untested area up plunge from Helmut South.  By the end of May, airleg mining had contributed 580 tonnes of ore and had advanced 45 metres up plunge following the new massive sulphide zone, which is trending towards the previously mined out Helmut ore body.  The active mine face displays 3 metres true width of massive sulphide at a sampled grade of 6%Ni.  A drill rig is due on site towards the end of June to test the up plunge extent of this footwall zone.

"A new discovery of nickel ore in such close proximity to developed areas underscores the exploration potential at the Tramways Tenements," states Brilliant President Mike Sieb. "The additional high grade material mined from this new ore source will provide a healthy boost to proceeds through the ramp-up phase of production at the Lanfranchi Nickel Mine."

Property Exploration Update

At the Lanfranchi North Dome area, the BHP Billiton Limited (BHP) Geoferret crew has finished its initial survey and the data is being interpreted by geophysical consultants. A drill program to test any targets generated from this survey will be developed following review of the consultant´s report expected by the end of June. The Geoferret system is BHP´s proprietary deep penetrating electromagnetic system used to assist in identification of nickel sulphide bodies.  The North Dome area is located to the north of the known ore bodies in an area that is geologically modeled to potentially host a duplication of the currently identified nickel channels but has received little exploration focus.

The project is supervised by John Williamson, PGeol, of Edmonton, Alberta, CEO and a Director of Brilliant, and is the qualified person as defined in National Instrument 43-101.

Brilliant Mining Corp. (BMC: TSXV) is focused on the production, development and exploration of nickel opportunities world wide. The Company currently has a 25% interest in the Tramways Tenements which is host to the producing Lanfranchi Nickel Mine in Western Australia and has 3 active nickel projects in Canada, including the Michikamau property in central Labrador.
